Realistic Water Synthesis

The sounds of water are notoriously difficult to sound design realistically.This video intends to serve as a detailed guide for synthesizing generative flowing water sounds, by emulating the components in real water sources that contribute to the sound.

BIOTA: Alien Soundscapes

Breakdown

Biota is a completely synthesized, generative soundscape. Everything you hear, from Geophony to Biophony, was all synthesized in Ableton Live through hours of studying ecological sounds and behaviors.

Roughly a year after the release of BIOTA, I created a video about my process.In this video, I break down how I created various geophysical and wildlife sounds generatively, and discuss other factors that go into creating a soundscape.

BIOTA has also been featured as a sound generator on MyNoise.net, a website providing customizable and interactive soundscapes!

I'm Amfivolia, an 18-year-old multidisciplinary artist drawing inspiration from the complexity of the natural world. Though I explore many fields of art, I usually find myself working with sound.At a young age I experienced severe hearing loss. During this period I often thought up sounds for things I couldn't hear well. When my hearing was greatly restored a few years later as a result of tympanoplasty surgeries, my interest in sound was heightened. I tinkered around with various music software and other ways to design sounds. Up until now, I still dream up sounds, but now I can use mediums to create them.My current endeavors are centered around the combination of natural phenomena with art. By studying sounds in ecosystems and how they behave, I've set about designing my own evolving ecosystem soundscapes.At heart, I'm very passionate in creative ventures and art of all kinds.
